Ferrite Testing is a non-destructive testing method that provides data to determine the delta-ferrite in stainless steel – austenitic stainless steel and duplex materials. Ferrite testing can be used to determine the ferrite content in castings, tanks, pressure vessels, stainless steel piping, and mechanical components. To achieve measurable results the material requires a minimum thickness and specimen size. The results of this testing provide information to assess material corrosion susceptibility, service suitability, and mechanical properties. Our personnel are trained with our in-house program and capably determine the ferrite content of materials.
Benefits of Ferrite Testing
- Compatible with a variety of materials
- Results provided immediately
- Verify corrosion-resistant properties are still effective
- Equipment is highly portable
